Charter Policies

Know before you go. Our policies are designed to protect your experience and set clear expectations for every charter.

Booking & Charter Policies

Please read all policies carefully before booking. Questions? Call Captain Joel at (305) 395-4212.

💳

Payment Policy

Your balance is due 14 days prior to your charter date. If your booking is made within one week of the charter, full payment is required at time of booking.

We accept payment by phone or online. Contact Captain Joel at (305) 395-4212 to confirm your payment method.

📅

Cancellation Policy

  • 30+ days before charter: Full refund issued.
  • 15-29 days before charter: Gift certificate issued with no expiration date.
  • 1-14 days before charter: No refund. Full payment is still due.

We understand plans change, but last-minute cancellations prevent us from booking other anglers. We appreciate your understanding.

Weather & Sea Sickness

Once the vessel has departed, the minimum charge applies, either a half-day rate or a 3/4-day rate, depending on the package booked. This policy applies whether the trip is cut short due to weather conditions, sea sickness, or personal choice.

In the event of unfavorable offshore conditions, we will rebook your charter at a later date, or move the trip to a Reef, Wreck, or Bay location at no additional charge.

⚙️

Mechanical Issues

In the rare event of a mechanical failure, you pay only for the time actually fished. We will make every effort to provide an alternate vessel so your day on the water is not lost. Your satisfaction and safety are our priority.

Guest Responsibilities

  • Late arrival does not extend the charter end time. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early.
  • Personal alcohol is welcome. Please drink responsibly and follow USCG regulations. Captain Joel reserves the right to refuse service.
  • All guests must comply with U.S. Coast Guard regulations and Captain Joel's instructions at all times.
  • Children are welcome. Adult supervision is required at all times.
🚫

GPS & Fishing Spot Privacy

NO GPS devices of any kind are permitted on charters. This includes but is not limited to: Navionics, Garmin InReach, smartphones with location-tracking apps running, or any other device used to record coordinates.

Our fishing spots represent four generations and 70+ years of proprietary family knowledge, over 15,000 GPS waypoints passed down since 1957. Any violation of this policy will result in the immediate termination of the charter. Full charter payment remains due regardless.

This policy is non-negotiable and will be enforced without exception.

🏊

In-Water Activities

Signed waivers are required for all in-water activities, including swimming, snorkeling, and any water-based recreation. Waivers must be signed prior to departure.

All in-water activities are subject to Captain Joel's discretion based on conditions and safety considerations on the day of the charter.

🌀

Pandemics, Hurricanes & Natural Events

In the event of a government-declared pandemic, hurricane, or other natural disaster that prevents the charter from operating, gift cards will be issued in lieu of cash refunds. Gift cards carry no expiration date and may be used toward any future charter or package.

We monitor weather and conditions closely and will communicate with you as early as possible if your charter may be affected.

Offshore Charter Conditions

If offshore conditions are deemed unfavorable by Captain Joel on the day of your trip, you will have the option to rebook at a future date at no cost, or we can move your fishing to the Reef, Wreck, or Bay, all of which offer excellent action in the Florida Keys. Captain Joel's call is final, and your safety always comes first.
